Monaco’s basketball team, the Roca Boys, will be in Champagne tonight to face Châlons-Reims following their convincing victory against the modest Boulazacois, 91 to 64.
Last Saturday’s 93 to 80 defeat against ASVEL was a disappointment after three consecutive victories: Limoges (89 to 79), Boulazac (73 to 70) and reigning champions Chalon sur Saone (103 to 97).
Châlons-Reims counts in its ranks a number of good players, including Ed Daniel and Ben Bentil. Daniel is the best rebounder of the Champagne team with an average of 6.6 per game, while Bentil is averaging 14.6 points per game. Monaco’s leading scorer, Gerald Robinson, is at 13.9 per game.
Strongly anchored in third place in the league, Monaco is the only team in the European Cup to be undefeated so far.
Meanwhile, Roca Team’s Drew Joyce has committed to join Limoges CSP.
