Monaco’s basketball team has added a fresh player with the signing of power forward Ian Hummer for the coming season.
Hummer (2.01 metres, 27 years old) arrives from Russian club Avtodor Saratov, for which he posted 10.2 points on 58.6% two-point shooting and 4.4 rebounds in 25 VTB United League games last season, eurohoops reports.
He enjoyed a storied college basketball career at Princeton University, where he was the Ivy League Player of the Year as a senior and finished second on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,625 points behind only Hall of Famer and former EuroLeague champion Bill Bradley.
Hummer has since played professionally for ratiopharm Ulm and BG Goettingen in Germany, Bisons Loimaa in Finland, TED Ankara Kolejliler in Turkey and Saratov in Russia.
He follows Derek Needham as Monaco’s second new signing of the summer.
