Security measures are being implemented to stabilise the rockface above Place d’Armes, the Rampe Major, Avenue de la Porte Neuve, and Boulevard Charles III to eliminate the risk of rockfalls.
The first phase of works are beginning on Thursday 3rd October, near the bottom of the Rampe Major by the police station, with no disruption to pedestrian traffic. Simultaneously, a temporary protective gallery will be installed along the sidewalk between the bus stops at Place d’Armes and Boulevard Charles III. This installation will occur overnight from 7th October to 8th November, with safety measures in place to guide pedestrians.
The gallery will ensure pedestrian safety while works continue along this section of the rockface, scheduled for completion by 20th December 2024.
