A new modern and contemporary art gallery opens in Monaco’s Mareterra development on 22nd December, presenting a curated selection of works by Salvador Dalí and contemporary artists through to March 2026. Dalí Universe and Lart Universe are launching the space at 12 Quai du Petit Portier as part of their international ‘Art to be Lived’ format.

The gallery aims to bring audiences closer to art outside traditional circuits, as the concept envisions the gallery as a place of encounter, sharing and direct experience of art, moving beyond conventional exhibition space models.

Dalí at the centre

A substantial section of the 300-square-metre gallery is dedicated to Salvador Dalí, the Surrealist master and one of the 20th century’s most influential artists. The centrepiece is the oil on canvas Twist en el studio de Velázquez from 1962, presented alongside a significant selection of original sculptures.

The Dalí presentation offers visitors the opportunity to explore the artist’s rich imagery, symbolic language and exploration of the unconscious through works spanning his career.

“This gallery offers an accessible and sensitive encounter, especially with the work of Salvador Dalí and other contemporary artists such as Rubinstein, in an ephemeral format that invites visitors to experience art in a different way,” explains Sylvie Thévenoz, exhibition curator.

Contemporary artists featured

Beyond Dalí, the gallery presents works by contemporary artists, with particular focus on Patrick Rubinstein. The selection combines established masters with newer generations of artists, creating dialogue between historical and contemporary practices.

The format is designed for a broad audience including art lovers, collectors, professionals and curious visitors, offering an experience that combines education, artistic quality and close proximity to artworks.

International network

Lart Universe is an international group dedicated to promoting modern and contemporary art worldwide, with particular attention to both established artists and emerging generations. The Monaco gallery is developed in collaboration with Dalí Universe, a group founded by Beniamino Levi.

The Monaco gallery marks the group’s expansion into the Principality, bringing the ‘Art to be Lived’ format to Mareterra’s newly developed waterfront district.
