Semeurs d’Espoir launches urgent charity collection drive in Monaco

With its stock of supplies running critically low, the humanitarian association Semeurs d’Espoir is launching a collection effort at the Carrefour Market in Monaco to replenish and restock essential food and hygiene items for local people in need.

Semeurs d’Espoir provides vital assistance to homeless and vulnerable individuals in Nice and Menton by distributing essential items such as clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and food during its weekly outreach operations. However, due to a surge in demand over the winter, the charity’s reserves are nearly depleted.

To address this shortage, a collection drive will take place between 8am and 1pm at the Carrefour Market on Boulevard Albert Ier on 28th February. The association is calling on the public to contribute by purchasing any number of items that will help replenish Semeurs d’Espoir’s stocks of groceries and hygiene products.

The growing number of people relying on Semeurs d’Espoir’s aid has made these shortages a recurring issue, and while the association already conducts two major collections each year at Carrefour Fontvieille, additional initiatives like this one are organised periodically to meet rising demand.

“Our stock of solidarity groceries and some hygiene products is almost at zero. In partnership with the Carrefour Market on Boulevard Albert Ier, we are organising a collection morning from 8am to 1pm next Friday, 28th February,” shared the team on social media earlier this month. “Come see us, and if you don’t have time to shop, a donation box will be available. You can also help by dropping off your donations at Abeille Assurances on Rue Caroline or on Level -4 of the parking lot near the Digue Rainier III, where our little red truck always has its tailgate open. Thank you in advance for your generosity.”

Shoppers visiting Carrefour Market on the day of the collection will be encouraged to support Semeurs d’Espoir’s cause by purchasing essential items for donation. Products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, compotes, canned salads, sugar cubes, instant coffee, and tins of tuna can help create “life bags” for those in need.
