Stelios Scholars reunion in Monaco raises close to €300,000 for future scholarships

A 20th-anniversary reunion hosted by the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation in Monaco has raised an impressive £255,000, or €295,000, towards scholarships for UK students. The gathering brought together over 60 past and current Stelios Scholars from the London School of Economics (LSE), celebrating two decades of impactful support provided by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou’s philanthropy.

Generous contributions from the scholars were matched by the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, generating enough funds to secure 10 new scholarships, which will commence in autumn 2025.

The Foundation encouraged former scholars to contribute in recognition of the support they had once received, encouraging a culture of “giving back” among those who have benefited from the program.

Professor Kramer shared his vision for the university and celebrated the enduring legacy of the Stelios Scholarships. Alumni speakers also took to the stage, sharing personal stories of how the scholarships had transformed their lives and careers over the past two decades.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou expressed his gratitude for the generous donations, highlighting the importance of alumni support in expanding opportunities for future students.

Since its inception, the Stelios Scholarship program has provided £3.7 million, or €4.27 million, in funding, making an LSE education accessible to many students from the UK.
