Monaco’s Department of Cultural Affairs has renewed its call for applications for three artists’ ateliers on the Quai Antoine Ier in Port Hercule.
Three workshops with leases ranging from one to six months, with the possibility of a one-time renewal, are up for grabs in Monaco. Two of the studios include adjoining accommodation.
Interested artists need not have any specific ties to the Principality, but they must have the correct legal status and, if necessary, the appropriate visa to live in Monaco.
The ateliers will be allocated via a competition-style review process. Applicants are being asked to submit a CV along with a presentation of up to five visual examples of their work, three press clippings, if possible, and a proposal for the project the artist wishes to work on during their potential Monaco residency.
No specific theme is required for the project, but government sources say that the selection committee will “pay particular attention to projects with an international aim and/or linked to a Monegasque cultural institution”.
Applications must be uploaded via the Mon Service Public portal by 31st May.
