Town Hall looks out for isolated seniors at Christmas

Geste Noel 2018

It is a tradition organised every year by the Social Action Service of the Town Hall for our isolated seniors. A good example of inter-generational solidarity.

This Friday, December 21, 2018 at 9am, several members of the Communal Council – Camille Svara, Jacques Pastor, André J. Campana and Henri Doria – welcomed seven young people in primary and secondary schools in the Principality on the occasion of the Christmas Gesture for seniors.

These children and teenagers, all volunteers, offered some of their time to visit the homes of isolated seniors. Accompanied by staff of the Social Action Service of the Town Hall and led by the municipal mini-bus, they have distributed to each of the 25 beneficiaries a Christmas meal tray offered by the Costa bakery but also several gifts: a bottle of sparkling wine , a panettone, a box of chocolates as well as a lithograph of the Monaco City Hall and a CD of Monegasque songs interpreted by the students of the Rainier III Academy.

To thank these young people with a big heart for their involvement with seniors, the City Council gathered them at La Condamine Market after the distribution, at the end of the morning, to offer them a drink and a gift.
