Traffic measures announced for busy evening in Fontvieille on 21st January

Monaco’s Fontvieille district is set to host two major events on Tuesday 21st January 2025, prompting significant changes to parking and traffic arrangements. Football fans heading to the Champions League clash between AS Monaco and Aston Villa and attendees of the Gala Evening of the Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

The football match will kick off at 6:45pm at Stade Louis II, while the prestigious circus gala is scheduled to begin at 8pm under the Big Top in Fontvieille. To manage the influx of attendees, authorities have assigned specific parking areas for each event. Spectators attending the football match must park at designated locations, including Wurtemberg, ZAC Saint Antoine, Stade Louis II, and Salines car parks. Those attending the circus gala are directed to La Colle, Papalins, Port, Ecoles, and Saint-Nicolas car parks, with additional spaces available at the Fontvieille Shopping Centre from 6:30pm.

Traffic measures will also be implemented to ensure smooth access and departure for those attending these events. The Avenue des Castelans will be closed from 3:45pm. Workers in the Fontvieille district who need to leave the Principality during the evening can use the Marquet link, Avenue de Fontvieille, or Avenue Albert II towards the tunnels.

To ease congestion, authorities are encouraging attendees to avoid using private vehicles and instead rely on public transport whenever possible. Those not attending either event are strongly advised to avoid the Fontvieille area entirely from 4pm onwards.
