From games nights to film screenings and conferences on the works of Niki Saint Phalle and the historic connections between the Principality and the Mediterranean Sea, there are many fun and fascinating events being planned by the Médiathèque de Monaco over the coming weeks.
The programme of events will kick off on Tuesday 5th November with a conference on the renowned French-American artist, filmmaker, author and activist, Niki Saint Phalle. Titled ‘Between Revolts and Dreams’ and presented by Cécilia Auber, the event will be held at the Louis Notari Library from 6.30pm.
Then, go green on Tuesday 12th November with Éco-BlaBla, an afternoon of discussions, exchanges and a mini-workshop with an environmental twist for keen horticulturalists and gardeners. Seed sharing is encouraged! The doors will open for this event at the Louis Notari Library at 12.15pm.
The same venue will host an evening of poetry and music featuring Chantal Bertrand, Hélène Gastaud, Patrick Mègevand and Jacques Burnouf on Wednesday 13th November from 6.30pm. The foursome will be performing ‘À la rencontre de la poésie au fil de l’eau’.
Then, on Friday 15th November at 12.15pm, the library will invite the Centre Scientifique de Monaco’s Denis Allemand and Philippe Mondielli to discuss their book, ‘Monaco and the Sea’. The work explores the historic ties between the Principality and its unique position on the Mediterranean coastline.
On Friday 22nd November, the Princess Caroline Library will host a Belote Contrée Tournament at 7pm, giving card lovers of all ages a chance to play the popular game in a fun setting.
A special screening of ‘Guardians of the Planet’, which takes a deep dive into the undersea realms of the oceans, will take place on Tuesday 26th November at 6.30pm at the Louis Notari Library. The film’s director and producer will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the film.

To round out the month, on Saturday 30th November from 10.30am to 12.30pm, visitors are invited to learn how to make reusable beeswax wrap packaging from wax and fabric. Super fun and practical, these wraps will make great gifts for Christmas!
