#MyMonacoStyle Weekend Report

weekendstyleoct30

Happy Monday guys! Hope you all are feeling rested and refreshed because a crazy week is ahead of us. Halloween, collection launches, cocktail parties, my schedule is a bit out of control. Of course the real nightmare is what to wear … I don’t even have my Halloween costume planned yet.

Anyways the fashion ante has been upped. The style competition around the Principality is heating up as it’s cooling down. It seems like everybody and their mother is wearing things on my personal Wish List. I need to join the Gucci Princetown Loafer Club asap! I’m intrigued, I’m envious, I’m in awe.

Sometimes I get messages about how the people I feature have great fashion looks but they’re not realistic for everyday situations. Here’s what I say to that: This is Monaco, there’s a Prince and a Princess who live in a palace on the hill. If you want real life pop into France … or Zara. But I hear you guys and for this report I took a little bit of a different direction with how I looked at style around. With that being said, if you’re wearing anything Gucci by Alessandro Michele you’re probably landing in here.

Alberto Franceschi & Natasha TozziAlberto Franceschi & Natasha Tozzi

@albertofranceschi @natashatozzi First up, let’s start the weekend style report with the first ever #CoupleGoals! I spied with my little digital eyes Alberto Franceschi, cofounder and brand manager of Hide & Jack, and Natasha Tozzi haunting the halls of the Fairmont Hotel. But who needs to dress like a restless spirit when you can wear the Trouble Andrew x Gucci “GucciGhost” print sweater (I need this!) like Alberto who kept it dark with black jeans and Hide & Jack sneakers.

Natasha was feeling chic and witchy in black fringe and leather and over-the-knee Casadei boots that probably would not come in handy when trying to outrun zombies and goblins and such but hey they’re cute! Is anyone else getting Scooby-Doo Fred and Daphne vibes from this stylish duo or am I going overboard with these haunting references?

Thaluana RamalhoThaluana Ramalho

@thaluanaramalho This Brazilian fashion influencer exemplified perfect girl on the go style as she zipped around Monaco this week. While skin seems to be a year round trend in Monte Carlo, Thaluana kept it classy in a beige trench coat perfect for fluctuating weather, a colorful scarf, a green lace dress that has me wistfully thinking back to the days of Blair Waldorf and Gossip Girl, tights (also very Blair Waldorf), Fendi sunglasses and Gucci Princetown fur loafers. Loving this look but dear Thaluana next time can you bring us some Brazilian weather? xoxo.

Gintare GureviciuteGintare Gureviciute

@gintare.gureviciute Someone that seems unconcerned that it’s almost November is Lithuanian television host Gintare Gureviciute. While all her looks across the weekend were amazing and perfect instababe inspo, my hands down favourite was the simplest one of all. Stunning in a little red dress with scalloped fringe sleeves and simple black ankle strapped heels and her suitcase, Gintare was a vision of how I wish people dressed to catch a flight instead of in sweatpants with neck pillows.

With her good genetics as an accessory, all I’m worried about for her is how dangerously close her stiletto heel is to that grate, however as the 1st place winner of Dancing on Ice, I don’t see her as someone who falls down easily.

LuganasLuganas

@luganas Last but not least, this hot wife and crazy mom seems to love her primary colours and we love her. I’m completely obsessed with this look she rocked around town this weekend; I can even see myself wearing this same look with a pair of jeans instead of that stunning cobalt skirt. Let’s get into her stylish ensemble.

A sporty bomber jacket is perfect for fall weather when it’s just getting cooler and you need an extra layer. The woodland green colour of this bomber compliments almost any skin tone and the stripe details keep it sporty but lux. Her high-waisted pleated cobalt blue skirt adds fluidity and motion to this look elevating the undertones of sport from the jacket. A green Hermès Kelly bag and Gucci green velvet Princetown loafers let you know that while the upper half says cool mom the lower half says glam wife.

Some people tend to overdo both those vibes, but together in harmony with the right pieces they create an image of calculated ease.

At 9 pm on Saturday, Prince Albert waved the start of the first car for the final stage of the 2nd Monte-Carlo eRallye, the nocturnal Turini leg which covers Sospel-Peïra-Cava and Peïra-Cava-Sospel.

The three-stage event is open only to 100 percent electric vehicles – hydrogenated or hybrid electric/hydrogen vehicles with 4 wheels, without the use of extension cables – registered for road use and with 2 to 5 passengers.

After leaving from the seventeenth-century chateau in Fontainebleau on Wednesday, October 25 at 2 pm and covering some 1,000 km, French team Didier Malga and Anne Valérie Bonnel won the rally in their electric Tesla S with 43 points.

It was a French podium all around, as Piotr Moson and Jérémie Delran took second with 54 points in an electric BMW I3 and Frédéric Mlynarczyck and Christophe Marques, with 57 points, placing third in a hydrogen fuel Toyota Mirai.

Mayor Georges Marsan and Jacques Pastor, Deputy Mayor-Responsible for Sports and Recreation, are the highest placing Monaco team, coming in sixteenth overall in a Toyota Mirai, made available to them by the Atomic Energy Commission.

Serge Pastor and Christophe Ponset, who came second overall in the 2016 Monte Carlo eRally, placed eighth this year in a Volkswagen eGolf, on loan from Volkswagen Auto Koncept Monaco.

Marjorie Crovetto Harroch, Deputy Mayor-Responsible for Life, Environment and Sustainable Development, and André J. Campana, Deputy Mayor-Responsible for the Exotic Garden, came in 26th, driving a Renault Zoé from the Renault dealership in Nice.

The Monaco Red Cross welcomed 10 employees of CFM Indosuez, the bank specialised in wealth management, on September 26 and October 24, for volunteer days.

The CFM Indosuez Wealth Management Citizen Days are part of the Indosuez Group’s overall corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy. These volunteer days aim to promote the involvement of employees, encourage local initiatives, and offer local associations a form of support other than financial to accomplish their mission. In total, a dozen individual and collective initiatives were proposed throughout the year in the environmental and social fields.

Throughout the morning, employees underwent an introduction to humanitarian aid and participated in an exchange on voluntary engagement. They then followed a training session in the “Stimule t’Oie”, a game created by young volunteers of the French Red Cross.

Based on the rules of the game, which involves a goose, this activity was designed for the elderly or those with a loss of autonomy, and uses certain senses and functional abilities, such as touch, smell, memory, and singing, in a shared spirit.

Thanks to the warm welcome of the staff and residents of Bellando de Castro and A Qietüdine residences, the volunteer apprentices successfully generated a fun time around this original game with a double objective: to encourage exchanges between generations and to fight against the isolation of dependent people.

At the end of the experiment, volunteers were left with a unanimous impression: “I have the feeling that we provided a relaxing moment to our elders and that’s a very good thing. To be revisited!”

The occasion was a good example of collaboration between the social sector and the private sector, which could lead to other interesting partnerships: “We also conduct first-aid training for staff members of this company,” said Frédéric Platini, Secretary General of the Monegasque Red Cross. “This is a fine example of collaboration that we hope to see continue and develop over time.”

Dubai trails Monaco by wide margin

Dubai
Dubai

The price of a prime apartment in Dubai is approximately €7,200 ($8,400) per square metre, putting the Gulf state far behind other cities in the top-end price tables, at 34th position, according to a report from New World Wealth.

Monaco, with an average price of €41,000 ($48,000) per square metre, remains the most expensive city for prime property out of the 54 destinations included in the study by the market research firm.

Monaco is followed by New York – which has just overtaken London.

Dubai trails behind Saint-Tropez, Paris and Nice in France, as well as Rome, Florence and Milan, The Hamptons, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco, as well as a number of Asian hotspots such as Hong Kong and Beijing.

“Notably, prices in New York, Sydney, Beijing and Shanghai all rose strongly over the past 12 months, while prices in London, Parish and Rome are all down,” said New World Wealth.

Andrew Amoils, Head of Research at the company, said that prices in Dubai’s prime real estate are still rising, aided by the continued influx of wealthy individuals into the city.

“Most of the wealthy people moving to Dubai are coming from Africa and the Middle East. I would imagine Dubai should break into the top 30 worldwide within the next ten to 20 years. It is certainly an up-and-coming hotspot,” he told Gulf News.

Dubai tops the list in the Arab world, with Abu Dhabi following closely behind in 35th position. The other two Gulf cities included in the study, Doha and Riyadh, occupy 38th and 40th place, respectively.

New World Wealth analyses the top prime property hotspots worldwide as part of its “Global Wealth Migration Review”. The latest data reflect the prices of prime property as of September 2017.

Positive feedback for sport clinic’s complete refit

2017-10-12 16.52.25

IM2S is Monaco’s orthopaedic medical-surgical clinic, which brings together specialists in all types of osteoarticular pathology.

In order to support the increasing number of consultations, IM2S, well known for its expertise in sports medicine, recently undertook a redevelopment of its Surgical Consultation facilities. “The surgical outpatient area has been renovated in four phases to minimise disruption to patient reception and the work of IM2S staff,” said Gérard Luccio, General Manager.

The layout of the space has been designed to offer patients more comfort, as well as more serenity for IM2S employees. Work, which begun in June was completed in August 2017, consisted of arranging all the medical offices on the south facade and creating seven individualised medical secretariats.

New contiguous waiting spaces have been installed. “From the secretariats to the implantation of the medical offices, everything has been thought out to guarantee the best conditions of reception for the patients, but also to allow a fluidity in the organisation of their care,” said Céline Caron, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors.

So far, the first set of feedback had been extremely positive, both from the patients and the staff of the clinic.

As part of the strengthening of its business, IM2S welcomed three new permanent practitioners between October 2016 and February 2017. By expanding its range of care, the institute is responding to the growing need to care for its patients.

His Excellency Robert Fillon, Ambassador of Monaco to Italy and Anne Eastwood, High Commissioner for the Protection of Rights, Freedoms and Mediation, participated in the launching ceremony and the first meeting of the Network of Women Mediators for the Mediterranean region, organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on October 26 in Rome.

The network is an initiative of Italy, which has been a member of the UN Security Council since January 2017, whose main objective is to contribute to efforts to “build the peace of tomorrow”.

Security Council Resolution 1325, adopted in 2000, focuses on promoting the effective participation of women in conflict prevention, through mediation and addressing their specific needs in peace processes.

As a first step, the Network of Women Mediators for the Mediterranean Region must define its organisation and working methods, to which the meeting of October 26 was largely devoted. Priority programmes for the action of the Network will then be defined for the coming months.

The Office of the High Commissioner in Monaco was inaugurated on March 19, 2015, offering everyone a peaceful and non-confrontational way of enforcing their rights vis-à-vis the Monegasque administrations, as well as in the private sector, in the fight against discrimination.
