Sixth Global Family Office Investment Summit

From June 27-29, an A-List group of 300+ billionaires, Sheikhs, Royal Families and Business Leaders from around the world will converge in Monte Carlo under the High Patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco. The elite group of attendees, which represents more than $2 trillion in investor wealth, will hear presentations from 80-plus esteemed global speakers.

“We organise these Global Family Office Summits several times a year in magnificent cities such as Monaco and Dubai in order to provide two days of private peer-to-peer conversation, networking and cross-border thought leadership. Every event is designed to make substantial families think about what to look out for and how they are investing, said Anthony Ritossa, Chairman of Ritossa Family Office, a family business dating back six hundred years to the Venetian Empire in Europe.

“In this instance, Giuseppe Ambrosio’s involvement as advisory board member has allowed us to build unprecedented local support for the summit with all key Monegasque institutions and precious guidance to select the genuine local participants so as to assure a quality gathering planned by family offices for family offices. I am immensely grateful to him,” Anthony said.

“I am also excited to welcome Eric Brundage, Owner of Monaco Life, as our Master of Ceremonies. He is a highly regarded and trusted advisor to  many families and family offices on a fairly broad spectrum of issues and will add valuable insights to the Summit discussions.”

Monaco Life asked Giuseppe Ambrosio to explain more: “How many local family offices from Monaco will participate? And what’s the advice you can give to would be participants?

“We will have around 30 including few multi-family offices; this will account for about 10 percent of overall participants. Bear in mind that this is an invitation only event, and apart from members of the association we vet through the advisory board review all would-be participants.

“I am part of the advisory board and I help Anthony locally with institutions in my capacity of president of the Monaco Single and Multi-family Office International Association. I am also partially in charge for media relations.”

Monaco Life: “You have been working very passionately with Anthony, what can you tell us about him?”

“Although he has already succeeded in putting together the biggest family office summit in the World he keeps raising the bar and striving for new challenges and new destinations; as far as the Monaco global summit, my objective is to secure Monaco as destination for the long term and allow the local family offices to benefit from this unique opportunity to meet other families. Anthony is a good friend and a reliable trusted partner, we like working together.”

Monaco Life: “What about the family offices awards? We have heard there might be some big local names up for the nominations?”

“All I can say is that Hollywood star Daniel McVicar will give out the awards to the winners on the evening of Thursday, June 28, during the gala dinner… stay tuned for more!

“It is a pleasure to work with Anthony and we share a common long term commitment and vision about the summit based on quality of participants.”

On June 16 and 17, 2018, more than a hundred high school students from the Principality took part in the PeaceJam programme at the Hotel and Technical High School, held for the fifth year in a row.

In order to encourage young leaders to engage in a positive programme to build a more stable world, the Peace Jam Foundation, created in 1996, invites young people to draw inspiration from the lives of Nobel Peace Laureates, by feeding on their experience and exemplary commitment.

Thanks to this ambitious initiative and with the full support of Ms Isabelle Bonnal, Director of National Education, Youth and Sports, students from the Principality met Mrs Betty Williams, Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1976, a pacifist activist from Belfast, very committed to the protection of children’s rights and the initiator of the Women’s Peace Movement founded during the Northern Ireland conflict.

At the end of the weekend dedicated to the promotion of peace, participants attended the screening of the film “Betty Williams: Contagious Courage”, dedicated to the life and commitment of this exceptional personality, a world premiere at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

Other organisations taking part in the two-day event were The Time to Live Club, Lands of Monaco, the Monaco Red Cross, Action Innocence – which campaigns for a safer Internet for young people – and the Run Eco Team, dedicated to ecological jogging and the collection of waste.

Gala to bid farewell to brilliant young Academy dancers

Princess Grace Academy Gala 2018

Princess Grace Academy Gala 2018

The Princess Grace Academy Gala – to be held this year on June 23 and 24 at Salle Garnier – is an opportunity to marvel at the academy’s incredibly talented students and high standard of teaching.

Excellence and diversity are the cornerstones of the academy, which aims to train the next generation of dancers and prepare all students to join international dance companies. This year’s Academy Gala will take place in two parts.

Last year’s graduates will soon be leaving to join their companies, and perform in a first part entitled ‘Pas d’adieux’ (‘Farewell Steps’). Students will perform a series of stunning variations that pave the way for their upcoming débuts on the professional scene. These ‘Farewell Steps’ are also an opportunity to acknowledge and thank the Monaco audiences who have watched them grow and thrive year after year.

The Gala’s second part treats audiences to a series of pieces especially created for the Academy’s students based on Brahms’s Hungarian Dances. The 21 famous dances unfurl in a free-spirited, romantic atmosphere, allowing the choreographers to showcase a host of different styles, from classical and contemporary to more individual approaches.

The guests invited to choreograph for the young dancers include the Monte-Carlo Ballets’ own Jean-Christophe Maillot, Michel Rahn, Eugenio Buratti, Francesco Nappa, Sara Lourenco, Grigory Chicherin, Jeroen Verbruggen and a composition by YoungSeo Ko, a student at the Academy.

Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Infrastructure, Environment and Urbanism, has announced the launch of the smart-city Cliiink device, Monaco’s reward programme for sorting glass packaging.

The minister pointed out that waste accounts for one-third of greenhouse gas emissions, and added that the new reward programme is based on ambitious criteria, as part of Monaco’s energy transition policy.

The 28 public green collection points for glass are now equipped with an intelligent counting system fixed on the container’s collection lids.

The user accumulates points that allow him to benefit from offers offered by more than 50 merchants (to date) in the Principality or the points can be converted into donations to charity.

Glass is a major part of waste. It takes many thousands of years before it disintegrates totally in nature. However, it is 100 percent recyclable.
