Ince & Co appoints new partner in Monaco

Marco Crusafio

International Law firm Ince & Co is pleased to announce the promotion of Marco Crusafio, in the Monaco office, a highly experienced dispute resolution lawyer, to the Partnership on 1 October 2018.

Marco specialises in dispute resolution with a particular focus on shipping litigation and international trade. He has experience handling high value claims in court and arbitration proceedings, both in London and abroad. He is also regularly asked to use his contentious background to advise on corporate transactions.

Recognised by Chambers & Partners in 2018 as “an associate to watch” who is “excellent on shipping work”, he works with a variety of clients including: shipowners; charterers; traders; ship managers, brokers, and insurers, based around the world but with a particular emphasis on Monaco and the Mediterranean. Marco is an Italian national who studied law in the UK and Italy and holds an LLM from the National University of Singapore. He trained with the firm and qualified in 2012.

Ince & Co opened its Monaco office in August 2011 and has continued to expand. Andrew Charlier, Global Head of Yachts and Superyachts relocated to Monaco earlier this year and Marco’s promotion to the Partnership further reflects the firm’s commitment to the local market. The office is recognised as a leading international law firm in Monaco – which is renowned for its well-established shipping and yacht communities.

Monaco hosts key diplomats from Greece, Kuwait, Jamaica and Korea

Mr. Gilles Tonelli, Counselor-Minister of External Relations and Cooperation, hosted a luncheon on 2 October for extraordinary ambassadors from Greece, Kuwait, Jamaica and Korea.

The luncheon at the Hermitage Hotel, was attended by HE Mrs. Aglaia Balta of the Hellenic Republic; HE Sami Mohammad Al-Sulaiman of the State of Kuwait; HE Mrs. Sheila Sealy Monteith of Jamaica and HE Mr. Jong-moon Choi of the Republic of Korea.

Admitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (AEM) in 1984, Mrs Aglaia Balta joined the diplomatic Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic in 1986. During her career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she held the post of Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Albania at the South-East European Countries Directorate, European Correspondent at the Common Foreign and Security Directorate, Deputy Director at the Diplomatic Cabinet and Head of Protocol. In 2012, she is appointed Ambassador of Greece to Chile.

After two years at the MAE, HE Sami Mohammad Al-Sulaiman, in 1987, joined the Kuwaiti Embassy in Athens, where he climbed the ladder. In 2000, he joined the Embassy in Turkey as Head of Mission, then he was appointed Deputy Director at the MFA in 2002. He subsequently served as Ambassador successively in Sweden, Norway, Iceland, in Denmark, India and Nepal.

During her 31-year career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Mrs. Sheila Sealy Monteith has been appointed to the post of Director of the Department of International Organizations, Acting Permanent Secretary, Undersecretary of the Division of Multilateral Affairs at MFA and Jamaican Foreign Trade and Permanent Representative International Sea-Bed.

HE Mr Jong-moon Choi joined the AEM in 1983, he became Director of the South West Asia and Oceania Division in 2000. He then took up the post of Director General of Planning and Management. of South Asia and Peaceful Affairs before being appointed Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka. In 2005, he became Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He is Assistant Minister in charge of Multilateral Affairs since 2016.

Teams gearing up for eRallye Monte-Carlo

The 3rd eRallye Monte-Carlo (19th Rallye Monte-Carlo ZENN) will take place from October 24th to 28th, 2018.

This regularity event, registered on the FIA calendar, counting towards the Electric and New Energies Championship, is dedicated to 100% electric and 100% Hydrogen cars.

Amateurs and famous drivers will start from Nevers on October, Wednesday, 24th. On the program, 5 legs marked by 10 Regularity Zones (RZ) passing by Valence, Laragne-Monteglin, to end in Monaco.

The arrival, which is planned in the Principality of Monaco on the Quai Albert, during the night between October 27th and 28th, will give this more than 1,200 km rally a great conclusion, with the prize-giving on October, Sunday 28th.

Autumn funfair returns to Port of Monaco for a month

Find all your favourite rides, including Pulsion, AtmosFear, Tagada and Astrojet… and for those with a sweet tooth, there are crêpes, waffles and toffee applies to taste once again this year with all the fun of the fair.

The Monaco Fun Fair will return between Friday 19 October to Monday 19 November at Port Hercule.

Funfair Monaco

Access to the Funfair is via four entrances on the upper level of the Quay, and two entrances on the lower level. Special measures have been taken to ensure security and visitors are recommended to bring small bags only, to facilitate checks at the entrance.

The walkway and elevator at Quai Albert Ier will not be open to the public.
Times:

  • Sunday to Thursday: 2 pm to 11 pm
  • Friday and Saturday: 2 pm to midnight

Possible opening from 11 am every day

Special days:

  • evenings before Monegasque public holidays: 2 pm to midnight
