Alan Walsh’s emotional plea: “Help me give Emily a fighting chance”

Alan Walsh, a renowned artist based in Monaco, has launched a heartfelt appeal to the Monaco community to help fund critical medical treatment for his wife, Emily Walsh, who is battling ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).

Diagnosed in early 2024, Emily is facing the challenges of this devastating neurological condition, which progressively affects the nerves that control muscle movement. With a life expectancy of just two to five years from diagnosis, the disease has already significantly impacted Emily’s mobility and independence. She now requires a walking frame, daily physiotherapy, and a specially adapted home.

“Emily is so mentally strong, and I have never been prouder of her,” writes Alan in a touching letter shared with friends and clients. “She is completely focused on trying to fight and find answers, not just for herself but for others.”

In search of hope, Alan is determined to take Emily to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA – regarded as the world’s leading neurological hospital. The clinic offers cutting-edge assessments, trials, and treatments that could potentially improve Emily’s quality of life. However, the journey will not be straightforward due to Emily’s fragile condition, and it comes with significant financial costs.

To raise funds, Alan has created a new limited-edition print inspired by Emily’s love for the elegance of the Riviera coastline, sailing boats, and her signature glass of rosé. The original hand-painted artwork is also available, with proceeds dedicated to supporting the trip to the Mayo Clinic, planned for February.

“Those of you who know Emily understand how loving, caring, and loyal she is. She’s dedicated her life to helping me with my career, and I owe it to her to get her the best medical care possible,” Alan continues.

This appeal is a call to action for the Monaco community to rally around the Walsh family and help give Emily a fighting chance.
