Sips for a Cure: Lucia Cannes hosting breast cancer awareness event on the beach

Lucia Cannes’ Sips for a Cure event this weekend is all about raising awareness and generating important funds for breast cancer research.

Opened by Nikki Beach entrepreneurs Jack and Lucia Penrod earlier this year, Lucia Cannes has set itself the challenge of reviving the vibe and reputation of the city’s world-famous Croisette with a fresh new concept.

Monaco Life was invited down to the chic address in May to sample the restaurant’s Cuisine du Soleil-themed menu and taste the creative cocktails that are served in some of the most artful and unusual glasses on the Côte d’Azur. You can read all about the experience here.

The season is now winding down at the beachfront establishment – Lucia Cannes toasted its final day of beach action on 15th October with its Last Call for La Plage event in partnership with Veuve Clicquot – but the restaurant has pledged to stay open over the cooler months.

There is a second event planned in the coming days, but rather than being a celebration of an excellent debut summer, the goal of Sips for a Cure is to raise funds for a local cancer charity, La Ligue Contre le Cancer Alpes-Maritimes, and pay tribute to breast cancer sufferers against the backdrop of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Lucia Cannes will be championing this important cause all day long on Saturday 19th October, and the bar’s talented mixologists have crafted a very special cocktail specifically for the event.

The Rose Éclat combines fresh lemon with rose syrup and is beautifully garnished with edible rose petals. During the Sips for a Cure event, 100% of the proceeds from the sales of the cocktail will be donated to La Ligue Contre le Cancer Alpes-Maritimes and the research projects the association supports.

“As you sip on the delightful Rose Éclat, you’ll be part of a movement that supports those affected by breast cancer and promotes the importance of research in finding a cure,” says a spokesperson for Lucia Cannes.

The event is entirely open to the public and there is no entry fee. For more information, click here.
