The installation of Christmas lights began on this week and will continue until the end of November in the Principality.

The work, which started on Monday, is being carried out by Blachère Illuminations and the electricians of the Town Hall Events Service. The setting up starts early because of the large number of lights and the fact that the municipal teams are dependent on weather conditions. The LED lights are designed to operate with minimum energy consumption.

The switching on of the Christmas lights will take place on Market Square in the Condamine on Friday, November 24, at 6 pm. From that date until January 7, all the districts of Monaco will be illuminated with Christmas colours.

The Fontvieille district will stay illuminated until February 4 for the 42nd International Festival of Circus of Monte Carlo and the Seventh New Generation Festival.
