Monaco-based OG Oil & Gas has increased its offer to take control of New Zealand Oil and Gas by one cent, and won the backing of the company’s directors, according to local reports.

The new offer of 78 cents a share is within the range of an independent valuation.

OG, which is part of the Monaco-based Ofer Global, has said it wants to combine its expertise in energy infrastructure with NZ Oil and Gas’s exploration and production.

OG Oil & Gas already owns just under five percent of NZ Oil and Gas and has said it would like to buy up to another 67.5 percent, although it has indicated it is willing to settle for something over 50 percent.

The improved offer is being recommended by NZ Oil and Gas’s independent directors, who said OG’s ideas for the company matched their own vision for the future.

“I am confident that with OGOG’s backing we will see New Zealand Oil and Gas invest in exciting new opportunities for growth,” NZ Oil and Gas chairman Rodger Finlay said.

OG has reportedly suggested it might join NZ Oil and Gas in looking at buying a number of assets from Shell.

The world-renowned charity auction, Only Watch, will showcase one-off timepieces for the first time in the UAE this week.

The stop in Dubai is part of a global road show before the auction itself in Geneva on November 11. The collection will be on public display at Le Cirque restaurant in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in the Dubai International Financial Centre between 10 am and 6 pm on October 10 and 11.

The 7th edition of the charity event, which was founded by former Managing Director of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), Luc Pettavino, was launched on September 27 during the yacht show and will visit Bangkok, Dubai, Istanbul, Hong Kong, Taipei, New York, Los Angeles and Geneva.

Fifty brands, such as Patek Phillippe, Hublot and Audemars Piguet, have created original watches in support of research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic disorder that results in muscle weakness.

All proceeds will be donated to Monaco’s L’Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies in support of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research. Since the auction’s first edition in 2005, and under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert, Only Watch has raised over €25 million and has financed numerous scientific and medical research programmes.

Only Watch will next visit Istanbul October 18-19. View the full 2017 catalogue here.

Town Hall to get a face lift

Monaco Town Hall is about to be renovated extensively in order to restore its former splendour and offer better facilities to the thousands of people who visit the historic site each year.

The last week of October will mark the start of the work, which will be divided into different phases and last until spring 2018.

The redevelopment project, initiated in 2015, has a dual objective: to create a dynamic and homogeneous space in order to give a “monumental” visual dimension while respecting the fact that the building has not undergone any renovation work since the Nineties.

Bathed in light and harmoniously symmetrical, the main hall will be more spacious and functional. Elegant and soft, the luminous shades selected for the wall coverings will be enhanced by the frosted Calacatta marble floor. On the ceiling, the gilding will be preserved and careful plaster stucco on the wall will conserve the historic building’s patrimonial feel.

Throughout the duration of the work, the reception will remain open to the public and the provision of communal services will be maintained. From mid-January until the end of the work, the Civil-Nationality service will be transferred to the Council Chamber with direct access from outside. During this period, the meetings of the Communal Council will be held in the Wedding Hall. In addition, marriages will continue to be celebrated normally in the Town Hall.

#MyMonacoStyle Weekend Report

MyMonacostyle

Hey Monaco, how you doing? Still looking good, as I’ve seen. Just because I’m in Milan at the moment doesn’t mean that I haven’t kept tabs on who’s wearing what on avenue Princesse Grace.

Autumn’s approach in Monaco has everyone experimenting with layers and textures.  It’s great to go back to black without looking like you’re attending the summer funeral of your rich aunt Beatrice. Necklines have gone up and hemlines down, unless you happen to be milling about the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel without a room (if you know what I mean). So let’s get into this weekend style recap.

Jonathan GermainJonathan Germain2Jonathan Germain

@jonathan_germain Instagram star Jonathan Germain has returned home to Monaco after his public breakup with social media darling Elisabeth Rioux and while most of us (not me though) would have put on some pyjamas and hid in the house with Netflix, he was out and about looking stylish in a black studded hoodie, black skinny jeans and black sneakers by Axel Rigato, accessorised with Summer 2017’s eyewear trend of yellow-tinted aviators. Jonathan’s cool and relatable style is one of the reasons he has reached 340K+ following on social media. Anyone can wear black jeans and a plain black hoodie. The key is, as Jonathan shows, is to find versions that have a little bit of an edge.

Yana weimanYana Weiman

@yanaweiman Back again in my roundup is Russian beauty queen and model Yana Weiman. A nice change from her usual style, she is serving pure Bond Girl with a high ponytail, La Bombshell tee (cause she kinda is the bomb), black jeans and fur sliders by Ice Queen Design. Has a good girl gone bad in the best way possible? Yana’s edgy look has me shook.

Liza Yushchenko Liza Yushchenko

@liza_u Next on my list is jewellery designer Liza Yushchenko. Kind of obsessed with her rock and roll street-style look. Now at first glance you’ll probably be like ok, she’s wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a band T-shirt – what’s the “it factor”?  The hoodie is Chanel FW 17 featuring an astronaut with a Chanel double C insignia that is kinda out of this world. The T-shirt … that didn’t come out of some vintage shop or Zara. It’s Gucci.

Now that I’ve educated you let’s move on to the very on trend flared jeans, the raw edges keeping with the dark mood Liza is channelling. The look is completed by red Hermès Calfskin OZ Mini Kelly Buckle Mules and Porsche Design’s iconic P’8479 wraparound sunglasses. Being fashionably incognito never looked so good.

Svetlana_kryzhevskayaSvetlana Kryzhevskaya

@svetlana_kryzhevskaya If there was ever a back-to-school look in Monaco to be done, I’d say Svetlana Kryzhevskaya nailed it! In a gray plaid blazer and high-waisted matching pants with an athletic stripe down the side, high school never looked so high fashion. An embroidered backpack and crystal-accented sneakers lend a girly vibe to this feminine take on menswear.

Floriana ParisFloriana Paris Baldassarre

@florianaparis Last but not least Monaco scene queen Floriana Paris Baldassarre made a dazzling re-entry back into the Principality fully embracing autumnal tones. She looked stunning on a girls’ night out at Cipriani in a yellow, white and olive green Max & Co dress and cape, paired with olive Gianvito Rossi sandals, and a black micro Christian Dior Lady Dior bag. Always looking perfectly put together, Floriana knows what to wear to best flatter her body … something a few women in the principality could learn from … No Tea, No Shade.
