SBM launches “stylish” safety video

A new SBM video, entitled ‘Monte-Carlo Cares: Safe in Style’, uses humour and sensitivity to convey the message that the group is conscientious about health measures as they gear up for re-openings all over Monaco.
As Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) reopens its establishments around the Principality, they want to show the public they are taking health to heart. To show their clintelle just how much, they have produced a video explaining the sanitary measures they have implemented to help patrons feel secure and relaxed.
Monte-Carlo Cares: Safe in Style was designed by the SBM marketing team to give international visitors a sense of what they can expect when they come back to their hotels, casinos, spas and restaurants.
Far from the run-of-the-mill safety barriers, SBM has thought out how to implement the latest governmental safety procedures in an elegant way, ensuring guests feel both protected and pampered.
SBM has worked incredibly hard to make certain they achieved the highest safety standards before deciding to open their doors once more. They have recently been awarded a certificate of mastery of Covid-19 ‘business restart’ sanitary measures, issued by Bureau Veritas France. This certification recognises the involvement of the group’s Human Resources Department, which has worked closely with Bureau Veritas, to guarantee maximum protection for both customers and employees.

ASM bids farewell to Danijel Subasic

AS Monaco has announced the end of an adventure with Danijel Subasic, whose contract expires on 30th June.
With almost 300 games in the Principality, the Croatian has established himself as a major player in AS Monaco’s successes over the past eight years and has proved to be one of the best goalkeepers in the history of the club.
Danijel Subasic, who joined AS Monaco in January 2012 from Hadjuk Split, has played 292 games under the Monaco colors, including 25 in the Champions League, taking part in all stages of the club’s progression during this decade.
The slender goalkeeper (1.91m) ranks second among goalkeepers with the most games played with AS Monaco, behind Jean-Luc Ettori.
One of the first recruits after the arrival of President Dmitry Rybolovlev, the Croatian goalkeeper quickly established himself as the titular goalkeeper of the Red and Whites.
Fearsome on his line for penalty shootouts, Danijel Subasic was notably crowned best goalkeeper in Ligue 1 in 2017.
That year, the Croat and the Monegasques won the title of champion of France in L1, four years after that obtained in Ligue 2, and rose to the semi-final of the Champions League.
A year later, Subasic helped Croatia reach the World Cup final, notably stopping four penalties during the competition.
“I congratulate Danijel on his exceptional journey with AS Monaco. He arrived at the start of the project, when we were still in the 2nd division, and over the years has taken up many challenges to contribute to the great successes of the team,” said club president Dmitry Rybolovlev in a statement. He is a great player who has shown here all his sporting qualities and great strength of character. I want to thank him for his loyalty and for everything he has done here. Danijel will always be welcome at AS Monaco.”
The native of Zadar will remain an emblematic figure of the past 10 years and one of the best goalkeepers in the history of AS Monaco. He has interest from multiple Middle Eastern sides at present.

Princess boosts #strongtogether campaign with video message

Princess Charlene has released a video message appealing for citizens of South Africa to support her foundation’s #Strong Together campaign and raise some much-needed funds in the fight against the devastating effects of Covid-19.
Since its launch in late March by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation South Africa, more than 70 celebrities and sports stars have signed on as ambassadors.
In her public address, HSH Princess Charlene says: “I am truly moved by the support and commitment of everyone coming together to help each other. I would like to urge you to continue donating, to be someone else’s light, and to do what you can to change lives in your community.”

The way it works is the celebrity ambassador chooses a charity of their choice and raises as much awareness as possible for #strongtogether – an initiative launched by SBM in Monaco at the start of the crisis.
Based on their efforts, people can vote for their preferred ambassador, donate to their selected charity, andenter the campaign’s competition to win a trip to the Monaco GP 2021.
All funds raised are split between the 45 collective charities and Princess Charlene’s foundation, enabling them to bring aid and provide relief to the country’s most vulnerable.
Chantell Wittstock, the director of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation in South Africa and sister-in-law of the princess, told local news outlet Channel 24: “I think what the world doesn’t know is, she does so much, and hardly any of it is ever out in public. She truly has the most generous and sincere heart. Her mission in life is to save lives, make a difference and give back.”
The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation South Africa has already helped by donating thousands of face masks to the country.

Alain Ducasse reveals the reopening date of Louis XV

Lovers of the “best souffle in town” will be thrilled to learn that Louis XV, headed up by world-famous chef Alain Ducasse, is set to reopen its doors at the Hôtel de Paris on Friday 19th June.

According to a statement by SBM, the three-Michelin star restaurant has been modified to comply with all health and safety measures, while staff and management have been trained to implement the necessary procedures. SBM says all of their suppliers and producers have guaranteed the same level of conscientious care.

“As always, it will be a joy for us to make this moment with us an unforgettable memory, with no doubt a special emotion to reconnect with our customers in this relationship so precious and which we have missed so much,” said Alain Ducasse.

Monaco’s most prestigious restaurant is opening just in time for summer, and Chef Dominique Lory says he plans to make the most of the season’s bounty.

Located in the heart of the Hôtel de Paris, the restaurant will be open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays, while dinner will be available from Friday to Sunday during June. For the months of July and August, guests will also be able to dine on Thursday evening.

The legendary eatery has been open since 1987 and has been regularly featured in lists of the world’s top restaurants.

ASM helping victims of domestic violence

The Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights has formalised a partnership with AS Monaco football club, which has been helping women who have suffered violence during confinement by offering a safe haven.

As part of its ASMONACOEUR programme, AS Monaco last month joined into a partnership with the women’s committee to offer accommodation for victims of domestic violence free of charge until 30th June.

The football club has made some of its facilities available to house these women who would have otherwise been forced to live in intolerable situations. There are six bedrooms, a kitchen and a common area where the women can pass their time and find comfort in each other knowing they are in a safe environment.

On Monday 8th June at the Ministry of State, Interministerial Delegate for Women’s Rights Céline Cottalorda thanked Oleg Petrov, vice-president of AS Monaco, for the gesture of solidarity and generosity.

Statistics have shown what the United Nations recently called a “horrifying global surge in domestic violence” since the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns began earlier this year. The increase is occurring in every country around the globe and is putting a fine point on the plight of the women and girls who are, and have been, subjected to this kind of violence.

In Monaco, the number of reported cases of violence against women remained small during lockdown, though the many cases do go unreported. Neighbouring France had a 35% to 40% leap in reported instances during lockdown, a massive increase in a country that already has a high rate of domestic violence.

More than 200,000 women reported abuse and 120 were outright killed in 2019 in France. In Monaco, 31 cases of domestic violence were reported last year.

The generosity of AS Monaco has allowed women and girls to escape awful situations and give them a place to get back on their feet. The club also offered space to the Princess Grace Hospital at the height of the epidemic, though their own facilities proved sufficient to handle the patients.

The service will be available throughout the summer holidays until Friday 28th August 2020 with a total of 80 places.
Children were received at the creches in compliance with strict health measures including the provision of hydroalcoholic gel, the wearing of compulsory masks for the teams, and the taking of temperature for parents and children on arrival and departure of the crèches.
According to the council, the children had taken a Covid-19 screening test prior to entering the crèches.
