The final home game of the 2023/24 season is on the horizon for AS Monaco Rugby, and the team will be going into the fixture with buoyed spirits following a win against Stade Olympique Voiron over the weekend.

After defeat at the hands of Bièvre on 31st March, a game that ended 28-23, AS Monaco Rugby rallied themselves in time for a game against Stade Olympique Voiron on 7th April.

That game went very much in AS Monaco Rugby’s favour, with a final stunning score of 64-29.

The U16 team also tasted success last week, having secured a solid win against RAS Delat Rugby. Playing at home in the Stade Prince Héréditaire Jacques, the youth sides’ game ended 34-19.

The final home game of the season will take place on 21st April, when Les Monégasques take on Saint Marcellin Sport.

Temperatures of up to 30°C forecast for the Riviera this weekend

temperature south of france

After a wet and cloudy start to the week, the mercury looks set to rise in the second half of the week in the south of France, with Météo France predicting localised highs of 30°C in parts of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var.

Last weekend was one of the hottest on record for the month of April in France, with temperatures reaching a scorching 32.7 °C in parts of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and an all-time-high of 30°C in the Haute-Savoie town of Sallanches, which is found at the foot of the Mont Blanc mountain range.

It was warm in the southeast too, although temperatures weren’t quite as elevated, with the hottest readings – 26°C – being taken on Saturday 6th April in Puget-Théniers.

After a rather damp March, the improvement in the weather was good enough to make it feel like spring had arrived in the Riviera and, after a gloomy start to the week, balmy temperatures will soon be returning to the Côte d’Azur.

The second half of this week will see an uptick in temperatures, with the mercury set to hit its highest point so far this year in the region on either Saturday 13th or Sunday 14th April.

Temperatures will likely climb to up to 30°C in some parts of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var. Inland towns and cities will feel the heat the most while temperatures will be a little fresher on the coast, at between 21°C and 23°C.

Once the weekend is over, temperatures across the region will begin a descent to more usual seasonal norms. For now, the Météo France forecast predicts that next week will be full of sunshine, with temperatures between 18°C and 20°C on most days.
