The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation has introduced the truly exceptional cohort of international young people who have been chosen for this year’s RE.GENERATION Future Leaders programme. These 13 “inspiring young minds” will now spend 10 days in the Principality as they attend an intensive training course on everything from communication and leadership skills to the art of networking.
From a French sailor and engineer to a Malawian advocate for solar solutions and from an environmentally-aware Italian athlete to a grassroots activist dreaming of a clean energy transition in rural India, the 2024 intake of “inspiring young minds” who make up this year’s RE.GENERATION Future Leaders is incredibly diverse.
The stories of these 13 young people are different in almost every way, yet they are all bound by a shared passion for environmental protection. As put by representatives for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, “They are poised to become the architects of a sustainable future.”
And helping these young people achieve their goals is the main objective of the Foundation’s RE.GENERATION Future Leaders programme, which was launched for the first time in 2023.
Changemakers
Some hope to use their business skills to found new companies and launch new products that will have a positive impact, such as John Boghosian, a Lebanese healthcare entrepreneur and the COO and co-founder of Pangea Bio, a company dedicated to accelerating modern drug discovery with nature-inspired science. Others, like Sheherazade of Indonesia, Denise Nicolau of Mozambique and Ali Alabyadh of Saudi Arabia seek to set new targets for wildlife protections in their home countries.
Brazil’s Ezequiel Vedana, the founder and CEO of Piipee, is hoping that innovation will provide the answer to regional sanitation issues and challenges, while Prabakaran Arun from India, an architect and city planner by trade, wants to advance environmental sustainability practices and climate resilience within urban areas.
The full list of people chosen for the Class of 2024 can be found here.
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation describes each of these individuals as a “changemaker”, a person with a will to make a difference, adding that the interactions between the 13 will hopefully give rise to “new projects to protect the environment”.
Over the coming months, the cohort will be given access to a range of training courses and programmes, such as the ongoing 10-day immersion campus in Monaco, which began on 10th June.
They will be taught communication and leadership skills, receive masterclasses from experts in their respective fields, learn the art of networking and pitching, and build on their personal connections with their fellow students.
“At the end of the campus, the Foundation will offer these young talents access to its network in order to give them maximum visibility by providing them with a wide range of opportunities: speaking at international events, taking part in media programmes or interviews, [producing] dedicated articles on the Foundation’s communication channels,” say representatives for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. “This tailor-made communications and public relations support is one of the major differentiating features of the RE.GENERATION initiative.”
