Anyone aged eight or over can try scuba diving at no cost at the Stade Nautique Rainier III on Wednesday 12th August, when the Mairie de Monaco holds the second of two summer taster days in partnership with the Club d’Exploration Sous-Marine de Monaco (CESMM).
The activity itself is free and supervised throughout by CESMM professionals, though the standard entry fee for the Stade Nautique still applies. Places are booked on the day, on site, rather than in advance.
Who can take part
The initiation is open to adults and children from the age of eight. Minors must bring a parental authorisation form and an image-rights waiver, both duly completed and available on the CESMM website. Children under 12 are, in any case, not admitted to the Stade Nautique unless accompanied by an adult.
A third summer at the Rainier III pool
It is the third year running that the Mairie de Monaco has offered the diving initiations alongside the CESMM, following a first 2026 session held on 8th July. The Stade Nautique Rainier III, the open-air seawater pool at Port Hercule, reopened for the season on 1st May and is among the busier fixtures of Monaco’s summer.
The taster days sit within the town hall’s wider summer programme at the pool, which this year has also taken in World Drowning Prevention Day activities with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation in late July, and the return of the Splash Party in September.
